“The South Bunbury Football Club is accepted in W.A. as perhaps the most successful and forward thinking over the past 100 years. The joint success enjoyed both on and off the field is of the highest order. The Tiger culture has no equal. Its true supporters are like the Collingwood Mob, you either love or hate them. It’s this admiration that the Club built its very foundation on and developed it to muster the Tiger culture which is so rare.

SBFC has made a huge contribution to the local football community, WAFL, VFL and now AFL, again both on and off the field, with perhaps its greatest individual being Trevor Nesbitt and his role at both WAFL and AFL level. As a SBFC product he rates with the very best of them.

It is with some regret that my personal involvement with the Club has been limited, but some issues and certain people created rocky path-ways which have never been mended, but it does take two people to rectify any problems and or change the direction of attitude.

As life rolls on, any past player or official looks back and at his time at the SBFC with pride and satisfaction and being part of this great country football club and its players and supporters, I know I do.”

Kind Regards,

Merv Kennedy
